Sustainable Drainage Advice and Design for your Development.

The SuDS Design Centre provides expert advice to meet the ever increasing demands for drainage design, from early stages of planning through to detailed design.

Our mission is to provide well considered SuDS advice and a high quality design service, for clients across the UK.

“Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) are designed to maximise the opportunities and benefits we can secure from Surface Water Management’

SuDS are designed to meet the four pillars of SuDS Design:

  • Support the management of flood risk and maintain & protect the natural water cycle;

  • Manage the quality of the runoff to prevent pollution;

  • Create and sustain better places for people; and

  • Create and sustain better places for nature”

What are SuDS?

Why the SuDS Design Centre.

The SuDS Design Centre is part of EAS, an established Civil Engineering Consultancy with many years experience in the planning and design of external works. See Link to EAS Website

There is an ever increasing demand on developers to provide multi-functional SuDS features, which can provide water quantity, water quality, amenity and biodiversity benefits; often with increasing demands on valuable development land.

As a result, expert advice on how to meet the Lead Local Flood Authorities requirements, whilst maintaining commercial viability of a development has never been so important.

The introduction of SuDS Approval Bodies in England in 2024, will increase the complexity of SuDS provision, even at an early planning stage.

The SuDS Design Centre has therefore been setup to work alongside our existing services, to provide development focused, high quality SuDS design, for sites across the UK.

Carbon Reduction

At the SuDS Design Centre, we acknowledge the critical role of embodied carbon in the Civil Engineering sector. Over the past few months, we have collaborated with a Sustainability Consultancy to craft in-house tools for monitoring embodied carbon. We are now equipped to calculate the embodied carbon (A-C) for all SuDS measures and road infrastructure specified in our projects. By providing our team with this capability, we aspire to make informed decisions regarding embodied carbon during the design phase and continue our commitment to minimising our environmental impact.
